Night 2 (of 3) - Rock the Park 7

Perfect night! Any moisture completely held off, letting every performer do their thing!

Alannah Myles - Certainly proved she still has that “voice” that launched a billion hits. There’s something to be said about hearing a song like “Black Velvet” in a hot and sticky outdoor concert setting that just feels…right! She certainly opened things and delivered to the fans that crowded the front of the stage only from the minute the gates opened at 4pm.

Night Ranger - I wanna party with these guys! Tight, energetic and, at least from my perspective, providing a couple of “Oh ya, they did that one too back in the day” moments! And ya gotta respect any band that can weave a little Deep Purple into the set while still rising above that with their own sound. Hearing Sister Christian live was very cool!

Peter Frampton - What can you say, the guy’s a legend. He can slip and slide between pure pop and scintillating blues riffs simply by adjusting his pinky finger on the fretboard it seems. And “Do You Feel Like We Do” clocked in at 19-minues! I’m sure, if he wanted to, he could JUST do that tune for an hour and if would be worth any ticket price asked. Wow!

Alice Cooper - Still frightening…Still got it! It was at once both a flashback to (pick a year in the late 70’s) and everything current technology can help the master create onstage. Alice has still got it…the theatrics, the set list and that eerily timeless voice that takes you to another, more sinister place from the opening “School’s Out” schoolbell! And that band…

Very cool moment was having Chicago Black Hawk Brian Campbell join Alice and the band onstage with Lord Stanley! And then Peter Frampton wailing away on a show closing version of “School’s Out”.

Frampton Comes Alive meets The Theatre of Death! Sweet!!!
