Cooper…Cup…Campbell…
What a night!
1023 BOB-FM Wrap-Up video from a VERY successful Rock the Park 7.
Thank You once again for making this all that it is!!!

Perfect night! Any moisture completely held off, letting every performer do their thing!
Alannah Myles - Certainly proved she still has that “voice” that launched a billion hits. There’s something to be said about hearing a song like “Black Velvet” in a hot and sticky outdoor concert setting that just feels…right! She certainly opened things and delivered to the fans that crowded the front of the stage only from the minute the gates opened at 4pm.
Night Ranger - I wanna party with these guys! Tight, energetic and, at least from my perspective, providing a couple of “Oh ya, they did that one too back in the day” moments! And ya gotta respect any band that can weave a little Deep Purple into the set while still rising above that with their own sound. Hearing Sister Christian live was very cool!
Peter Frampton - What can you say, the guy’s a legend. He can slip and slide between pure pop and scintillating blues riffs simply by adjusting his pinky finger on the fretboard it seems. And “Do You Feel Like We Do” clocked in at 19-minues! I’m sure, if he wanted to, he could JUST do that tune for an hour and if would be worth any ticket price asked. Wow!
Alice Cooper - Still frightening…Still got it! It was at once both a flashback to (pick a year in the late 70’s) and everything current technology can help the master create onstage. Alice has still got it…the theatrics, the set list and that eerily timeless voice that takes you to another, more sinister place from the opening “School’s Out” schoolbell! And that band…
Very cool moment was having Chicago Black Hawk Brian Campbell join Alice and the band onstage with Lord Stanley! And then Peter Frampton wailing away on a show closing version of “School’s Out”.
Frampton Comes Alive meets The Theatre of Death! Sweet!!!

Here’s a picture of the “BOB Rock the Park” guitar presented right before Skynyrd to the McIntyre’s and Bethany’s Hope Foundation. Keep in mind, by that point in the event, it was signed by virtually all of the artists that attended Rock the Park.
BOB thanks Jeff Jones from Jones/Ratical for making this custom guitar specially for RTP7!

Backstage video of Ed, Collective Soul, ending their set last night with “Run” at Rock the Park 7!
Awesome evening…until the rain came! And even then, with 3 Doors Down onstage, it was kind of cool.
Crash Karma - Great way to kick things off. It was like getting three or four Canadian bands to open up the show with tunes from them, I Mother Earth and Tea Party all starting things mid-afternoon. Thanks for kicking things off!
Thornley - These guys can rock hard, or not (depends on the song and mood). They certainly mix the tempos and textures and sound great, tight and intense! Love “That Song”!!!
Collective Soul - Pros, in every sense! These guys can play! While Thornely was onstage Stax had a chance to chat with Dean Roland on BOB-FM. Nice interview…he said they were ready…they delivered.
3 Doors Down - I’m sure these guys felt right at home…kinda felt like a grungy Mississippi evening with the steam and then drizzle and then rain. Really too bad that weather started a few people to turn around and find the exits because these guys put on a great show.
Hope everyone had a great time, played hard and then made it safely home!
Let’s do it all over again tonight!!!
Alannah Myles - Night Ranger - Peter Frampton - Alice Cooper
Nikayla,
We are going to be airing clips from that interview (and from a few of the other artists involved that we were able to chat with) during the day on Saturday, prior to 3pm…when we start our daily broadcast live from Rock the Park.
Hope you enjoy the show!

IF YOU’RE COMING IN FROM ELSEWHERE…Welcome!
Harris Park is downtown, along the Thames. Approximately where you see the words “King Street” on this small map, is where the John Labatt Centre is located. There’s a parking lot there (paid) and also further north.
- Dufferin is the squiggly line bordering Harris Park, downhill.
- Riverside Drive is the road that splits West-to-East.
Have fun at Rock the Park!
